ED SARGENT ACHIEVES MICROSOFT CERTIFIED TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST: SQL SERVER 2008, DATABASE DEVELOPMENT CERTIFICATION

Summit IT Solutions is pleased to announce that Ed Sargent, Solutions Architect, has achieved the Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS): SQL Server 2008, Database Development Certification.

The Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) certifications are designed to validate skills on the features and functionality of Microsoft technologies. As an MCTS, Ed has been certified by Microsoft and is authorized to implement, build, troubleshoot, and debug SQL Server 2008 databases.

The addition of this certification bolsters Ed's already impressive list of Microsoft certifications which now include: Microsoft Certified Solution Developer, Microsoft Certified Application Developer, Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist - SQL Server 2008 - Database Development, and Microsoft Certified Professional.

SUMMIT IT SOLUTIONS ACHIEVES MICROSOFT SILVER DATA PLATFORM COMPETENCY

Summit IT Solutions has achieved the Microsoft Silver Data Platform Competency.

To achieve this competency, Summit IT Solutions was required to pass Microsoft's qualifying exams and provide a software application that has passed the qualifying application test demonstrating expertise in the SQL Server 2008 R2 Platform.  Qualifying applications include developed and marketed, packaged software solutions based on Microsoft technologies. 

Achieving the Silver Data Platform Competency allows Summit IT Solutions to showcase its skills in developing database applications and solutions based on Microsoft technologies, including Microsoft SQL Server data management software.

SUMMIT IT SOLUTIONS ATTENDS EXCHANGE AMERICA CONFERENCE

Todd Lewis, CEO of Summit IT Solutions attended the Everything ChannelEvents 2011 Xchange Americas Conference held in Denver Colorado from August 10-13 2011.

The purpose of the annual XChange Americas Conference is to coordinate the demonstration of new products, services, and solutions, insight from leading industry speakers, and unique networking opportunities.

Solution Providers attended XChange to review the newest products and services available to increase their productivity, find solutions to their pain points, update their technology and maximize their ROI. 

The Conference included a Solution Pavilion that combined an informal business venue of hands-on demonstrations and one-on-one meetings with leading IT vendors.

After attending the event, Lewis noted "Attending events like this is like 'drinking from a firehose'. I attended almost 30 different events and received presentations from about the same number of vendors.  Prior to this event our team agreed that we need to incorporate a more comprehensive backup solution into our service portfolio. Not only did I leave the conference with product information from three great vendors, each offering slightly different approaches, but more importantly I received invaluable feedback from peers who have actually implemented these technologies.  Almost all the presentations talked about cloud based services, whether we like it or not, this is the future of IT."

SUMMIT IT SOLUTIONS BECOMES AN ECLINICALWORKS PREFERRED IT VENDOR

Summit IT Solutions has been certified as an eClinicalWorks 'Preferred IT Vendor'.  Craig Beltz, CTO of Summit IT Solutions, completed a comprehensive training program at eClinicalWorks' headquarters located in Westborough, Massachusetts to obtain Preferred IT Vendor status.

The eClinicalWorks' Preferred IT Vendor Program enables solution providers to market themselves as organizations that understand the infrastructure requirements and can work seamlessly with eClinicalWorks project management and support teams.  The program subsequently enables eClinicalWorks to provide a published list of pre-qualified IT companies to customers in need of an IT vendor.

To achieve the Preferred IT Vendor status providers must offer IT support as their core business offering and have a published website, attend training at the eClinicalWorks corporate office in Westborough, MA, successfully perform at least one deployment per quarter or four total per calendar year, and maintain an average customer satisfaction rating of four out of five for the calendar year.

eClinicalWorks is a privately-held, leader in ambulatory clinical solutions. Its solutions extend the use of electronic health records beyond practice walls with the latest technologies and create community-wide records. The company has an established customer base of more than 55,000 providers and 250,000 plus medical professionals across all 50 states. Revenues for 2010 exceeded $150 million.

ECLINICALWORKS ANNOUNCES MEANINGFUL USE UPGRADE

eClinicalWorks, a market leader in ambulatory clinical systems, today announced that 2,000 practices have successfully upgraded to Version 9, the company's meaningful use (MU) version, which, with electronic prescribing and the eClinicalWorks Patient Portal, has received 2011/2012 ONC-ATCB Complete EHR certification by the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology (CCHIT).

Aiding its customers through the attestation process of meaningful use, eClinicalWorks has developed the eClinicalWorks Meaningful Use, Adoption, and Quality (MAQ) Dashboards and are offering them free of charge. As part of participating in the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) EHR Incentive Program, providers are required to supply data that illustrates their meaningful usage of a certified EHR. The data reported to CMS is generated by the EHR, eClinicalWorks provides this information to providers through the MAQ Dashboard. These dashboards allow providers to track their progress on each of the objectives and measures during the reporting period and beyond.

Summit IT Solutions is currently the only eClinicalWorks Preferred Vendor located in Ohio and provides Health IT Support to over 500 users of EMRs.

SUMMIT IT SOLUTIONS ATTENDS VARNEX SPRING 2011 CONFERENCE

Summit IT Solutions' CEO Todd Lewis and Director of Business Development Rick Palumbo attended the Varnex Spring 2011 Conference held in Boston Massachusetts from April 10-12, 2011.

Varnex is a peer-to-peer community of Synnex a leading distributor of SMB resellers, united in a spirit of collaboration to drive growth and achieve success in the channel.

In addition to a message from Synnex executives, including Synnex President and CEO, Kevin Murai, attendees heard from the Varnex Council President, Mike Brogan, and a variety of other industry speakers, as well as an executive panel of top vendors such as HP, Microsoft, and Lenovo.

Dozens of IT Vendors showed off their latest offerings and met with Varnex members at the Vendor Pavilion.

The event's keynote speaker was Christopher Gardner who was the inspiration for the hit film, The Pursuit of Happyness, starring Will Smith.  Gardner spoke about his personal experiences and offered his insight on how to break destructive cycles in everyday life to achieve success.  Attendees received copies of Gardner's book The Pursuit of Happyness personally signed by Gardner.
